In the 2024 budget project, two billion hryvnias have been allocated for humanitarian demining.

The state will cover the costs of agrarians for demining through the implementation of a corresponding tender in the Prozorro system.

As reported by a Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced by the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, during a working trip to the Zhytomyr region.

"In the budget project for the next year, funds in the amount of 2 billion hryvnias have been allocated for a humanitarian demining program. The idea is to compensate agrarians who need demining for the cost of demining work. However, the requirement will be that they must operate "aboveboard," they must have hired workers, and they must use the Prozorro system to purchase this service," she said.

Svyrydenko emphasized that regulatory documents are currently being processed to determine the operation of this program. According to her, this initiative will send a signal to donors that humanitarian demining is a priority for Ukraine, and the state is ready to accumulate funds for it.

"I very much hope that our colleagues, members of parliament, support this initiative. Because if you look at all our surveys of the business community, the number one issue for agrarians is demining," she added.
