The Parliament passed laws on tax exemptions for the import of components for the production and/or repair of mechanized demining machines
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted draft laws No. 11258 and 11259 concerning the elimination of customs duty and value-added tax on components for the production and/or repair of mechanized demining machines.
Additionally, amendments added during the second reading exempt energy equipment, such as electric generators, wind and solar generation equipment, and batteries (excluding low-capacity batteries), from import duties. Equipment for manufacturing counterintelligence tools and tactical headphones for special purposes is also exempt from taxation.
The votes for these drafts were 305 and 313 respectively.
The Ukrainian Association of Humanitarian Demining Operators played a significant role in drafting these laws, including advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and legal support for these important legislative initiatives.
