On December 28, representatives of the Ukrainian Association of Humanitarian Mine Clearance Operators took part in an international webinar on the topic of "The First Kyiv International Mine Action Declaration: What Do Donors Expect? Prospects and Challenges of Mine Action."
Andriy Savarets, coordinator of the Association, stressed the importance of communication with all stakeholders in the mine action process, including governments, donors, and the public.
Sergіy Skidanov, CEO of DEF-C, a drone solutions company that is a member of the Association, discussed the potential of using unmanned aerial systems and other high-tech solutions to clear landmines.
At the end of the webinar, participants unanimously agreed that the First Kyiv International Mine Action Declaration is needed to guide the global effort to clear landmines and other explosive remnants of war.
