The government is developing a mechanism to compensate farmers for humanitarian demining - Shmyhal.

In the near future, the government will present specific proposals to support farmers in the direction of humanitarian demining. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at an extended meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, which took place in Kharkiv, Ukrinform correspondent reports. "We are, in fact, currently working with the Ministry of Economy on a mechanism for reimbursing our farmers for humanitarian demining. The details will be available soon... We are putting funds into the budget for next year," Shmyhal said, clarifying that it is about "significant funds." According to him, compensation to farmers will be full or partial - depending on the specific situation. The Prime Minister noted that the demining process is ongoing. Ukraine currently has 26 special machines for this purpose, but the government is taking the necessary steps to increase them. "By the end of the year, we expect several dozen more cars. 6 machines are working today in Kharkiv region. We will expand this direction together with our partners," the head of government said.
